HISTORY

The idea for a remote release binding has been incubating for approximately 10 years. Our intention was to provide safety for skiers caught in tree wells when skiing in back country conditions. When considering how to bring this idea to life, our initial thoughts centered on how to effect a release of the heal binding, for a skier, when caught in a situation where manual release of the binding was not possible. A breakthrough came when we realized that releasing the toe portion of the binding would clear the skier from his binding.

SAFETY

The TR-1 was developed for any skier who values safety in the back country. Hazards such as tree wells, creeks and crashes make the remote release binding essential.

SKI FOB

The digital binding system includes a hand held ski fob. The fob can be attached to the skier’s jacket for easy access.

Ski Pole

Ski poles with built-in rechargeable battery and Bluetooth connection are available. This option can generate additional sales revenue.

Bluetooth

The TR-1 uses a standard Bluetooth stack protocol with an approximate range of 100 meters.

iphone App

A smartphone app will enable users to track battery power, trigger binding release, or activate alarm for lost ski.

Sound

Customers will have the ability to program unique personalized sounds for their skis using the smartphone app. Sound gives the skier the ability to find skis that become lost in the snow or the ski rack.

Specs

Light weight construction – currently weighs less than 10 ounces per ski. We anticipate dropping this weight by 40% by utilizing more plastic materials in the final design. Low profile design – only 10 mm thick.
